I have set myself a new challenge, to shoot on-location armed only with items that I can easily carry in two hands. My setup needs to be quick and easy to setup and take down and move to the next location. Gone are my heavy c-stands, background stands, and large modifiers, which are replaced with small light stands, mini softboxes and portable strobes.
My plan is to shoot open wide apertures, blurring out the backgrounds. Possibly using HSS to bring down my ambient lighting down as I hope to be shooting during the golden hour.
This is the gear I plan to bring on-location, includes my Nikon D750 camera along with my 85mm and 50mm f1.8 prime lens, two AD200 portable strobes, one speedlite, triggers and receivers, a lightmeter, some gels, a monopod, mini-softbox, a umbrella and 3 stands of varying sizes.
And all this gear fits nicely to these three bags. I'm ready to shooting on-location!!
I'm inspired by the following IG account, their on-location shoots are just awesome. They have excellent behind the scene images too.
All I require now is good dry weather!!!!!
